FREELANCE DISTRIBUTION MANAGER (m/f/x)

REMOTE – Part-time

Reports to:
General Manager

JOB OVERVIEW
The Distribution Manager is responsible for overseeing delivery of new Audio & Video releases and general administration around our content operations. Reporting into the General Manager, the Distribution Manager works closely with Artist Relations, Post-Production & Platform Management teams to ensure accurate delivery of digital assets to DSPs and other platforms. They are also responsible for maintaining metadata across our entire catalog to ensure all information is complete and up to date, as well as implementing systems and workflows for music and asset distribution across the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Managing the distribution of all new Audio & Video releases to DSPs
  • Overseeing all catalog administration and keeping systems up-to-date
  • Preparing label copy and managing metadata
  • Maintaining release schedule and pitching materials for outreach to partners
  • Contributing ideas and input to new creative marketing strategies
  • Monitoring release performance and listener behavior, and preparing analytics reports for both internal and external use

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

  • A strong understanding of digital distribution supply chain and metadata requirements, and a passionate interest in the contemporary music streaming economy in general
  • Can demonstrate excellent organization and communication skills with acute attention to detail and quality control standards
  • 2+ years music industry experience at a record label, distributor, or artist services company in an administrative / operational role
  • Excellent written and spoken English
  • A process-driven and continuous improvement mindset, with a flexible and adaptable approach to growing within a team and optimising workflows in an evolving environment
  • Experience managing large datasets within Excel/Google Sheets
  • Passion for supporting independent music and artist development
  • Appreciation and care for the diverse cultures and music represented on the COLORS platform
